SeaVision Communities

SeaVision user and information management is accomplished through the use of communities and personas. Communities are groups of users with a shared mission and are managed by a Community Manager.  The following communities are available in SeaVision today:

US Navy:  This community supports the numbered Fleet Maritime Operation Centers and maritime domain awareness mission.

NAVAF:  This community supports Commander US Naval Forces Europe, Commander US Naval Forces Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) partnership building and maritime domain awareness mission.

NCAGS (Naval Co-operation and Guidance for Shipping):   This community assists operational commanders in managing risk by providing situational awareness and near real-time information on the commercial shipping picture to help ensure the safe passage of merchant shipping and the safety of naval vessels.

Pacific:  This community supports the Pacific Fleet and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)

DHS (Department of Homeland Security):  This community includes DHS employees/support that require maritime situational awareness to achieve their mission.  

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration):  This community includes NOAA personnel that require maritime situational awareness to support their mission regarding the oceans and the atmosphere. 

US Government:  This community is for United States government personnel/partners that monitor/track maritime activities


Personas within Communities


A persona is a focused sub-group within a community. Personas are created by the Community Manager who assigns users to the appropriate persona within the Community.  Access to a persona gives users access to authorized data and shared objects
